Fifty Student Athletes Named to the Fall NECC All-Academic Team
NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Fifty Elms College student athletes were named to the 2013 Fall New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) All-Academic Team as announced by the league organization on Thursday.
A total of 198 student athletes received the honor following their performances in the classroom during the fall semester and that number has increased by 28 student athletes since last season.
To be eligible for the NECC Academic All-Conference, a student athlete must post a minimum grade point average of 3.40 on a scale of 4.00 and must be a sophomore or higher in class standings. Student athletes who competed in men's and women's cross country, men's golf, field hockey, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball were eligible for fall NECC academic honors.
The Blazers placed 50 student athletes on the all-academic team with Bay Path College receiving the next closest number at 27 (female only institution), followed by Lesley University with 23 student athletes.
