A Grand Gesture

CHICOPEE, Mass. – As part of its community service efforts for the 2012-13 year, the Elms College athletics department, led by the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), raised over $1,000 for the Western Mass Food Bank located in Springfield, Mass.

Through the direction of the SAAC, 93% of Blazer student athletes helped raise over $1,000 that was donated to the Western Mass Food Bank which serviced over 37,500 people last year – a 6,000 person increase from the previous year. The cross country, field hockey and women’s basketball teams led the charge for this initiative with their generous donations.
