Five Fall Athletes Named NAC All-Academic

FIVE ELMS COLLEGE FALL ATHLETES NAMED
NORTH ATLANTIC CONFERENCE (NAC) FALL ALL-ACADEMIC

CHICOPEE, MA, Feb. 1, 2007 - The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) announced its 2006 Fall All-Academic Team and Elms College had five student athletes honored.

To be honored by the conference, a student athlete must have reached junior academic standing, have competed a minimum of two years in their sport with a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.

The following Elms College student athletes earned recognition for their academic accomplishments by the NAC:

  • Men's soccer senior defender Jay Ciesluk (Amherst, MA) (Fine Arts/Secondary Education)
  • Women's volleyball defensive specialist Melanie Joy (Hampden, MA) (Education/Biology)
  • Women's soccer senior defender Tina Lempke (Holyoke, MA) (Communication Science & Disorders)
  • Women's soccer senior forward Chelsea Rose (Belchertown, MA) (Psychology)
  • Field hockey junior midfielder Catherine Thresher (West Suffield, CT) (Nursing)
