WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY COMPETES AT JAMES EARLY INVITATIONAL  

WESTFIELD, MA, Oct. 7, 2006 - Elms College sophomore Catherine Andrews (Feeding Hills, MA) and freshman Ryan Sullivan (Lenox, MA) were the top individual finishers for the Blazers at Saturday's James Earley Invitational men's and women's cross country meet hosted by Westfield State College at Stanley Park.

Andrews covered the 5,000-meter (3.1-mile) course in a time of 21:58 to place 70th out of 157 runners in the women's race.

Sullivan, meanwhile, clocked a time of 31:16 in the 8,000-meter (4.95-mile) men's race to finish 129th out of 205 runners.

Neither Elms College team registered team scores in Saturday's meet.

Both teams return to action at the WNEC Invitational on Saturday, October 14.
