MARSHFIELD, Mass. – Elms College sophomore Ayanna Meadows was honored as the New England Collegiate Conference Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Meadows (Springfield, Mass.) tallied 31 kills on a .241 hitting percentage as Elms went 2-0 during the week. She had two double-doubles, finishing with 15 kills and 26 digs at Westfield State, while adding 16 kills and 16 digs at Newbury. She averaged 4.67 digs and 3.44 kills per set. She also served up four aces on the week.
The Blazers improved to 8-3 on the season and 1-0 in the NECC with a pair of road victories during the week, including a 3-1 win in the NECC-opener at Newbury College. Elms returns to action on Sept. 29, hosting Lesley and Salem State.
