Christina Martin
Elms College sophomore women's volleyball player Christina Martin (Chicopee, Mass.) was chosen as this week's female student athlete spotlight.
Martin, a business management major at Elms, completed her second season as a member of the Blazers' women's volleyball program in 2010.
In 2010, Martin downed 94 kills, recorded 98 digs and registered 23 service aces to help Elms claim the fifth seed in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championship tournament. Martin had her best match of the 2010 season in a 3-0 sweep of Massachusetts Maritime Academy after downing 11 kills on 18 swings with just three errors to register a .444 hitting percentage for the contest.
Briefly describe your favorite sports moment (playing or as a fan):
My favorite sports moment was when I won a softball game my senior year of high school and I didn't realize it until my teammates were yelling and screaming.
Who has been your biggest influence in sports and why:
My parents because they always try to lift me up when I am upset and they are always there for me through everything no matter what.
Why did you choose to attend Elms College:
Where is your favorite place to travel and why:
My favorite place to travel to is the Bahamas. The weather is amazing and it's gorgeous there.

My favorite movie is Love and Basketball.
