WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO SAGE, UTICA
IN SECOND DAY OF UNION TOURNAMENT

SCHENECTADY, NY, Sept. 13, 2008 - Elms College senior Jeannette Nunez (Canovanas, Puerto Rico) recorded a combined 17 kills and junior setter Kim Phillips (Randolph, MA) handed out 28 assists, but the Blazers dropped a pair of non-conference women's volleyball decisions to both Sage and Utica in the second day of the Union Tournament on Saturday.

The Blazers (0-8) fell 3-0 (25-11, 25-14, 25-9) to Sage and 3-0 to Utica (25-14, 28-26, 25-18).

In the match against Utica, freshman middle hitter Stacy Croteau (Agawam, MA) scored six kills and nine digs in the losing effort.

Nunez was also named to the Union All-Tournament team.

Elms College plays its home opener on Tuesday, September 16 when it hosts Westfield State. Match time is 7:00 p.m. at the Maguire Center.
