 WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL FALLS AT WESTFIELD STATE, 3-0

WESTFIELD, MA, Oct. 11, 2007 - Elms College junior outside hitter Jeannette Nunez (Canovanas, Puerto Rico) recorded a team-high nine kills and sophomore setter Kim Phillips (Randolph, MA) handed out 16 assists, but Westfield State went on to post a 3-0 (30-11, 30-13, 30-24) win over the Blazers in Thursday night's non-conference women's volleyball match at the Woodward Center.

Elms College lost its fifth straight match and fell to 6-10 overall, while Westfield State evened its record at 9-9.

Freshman outside hitter Lindsay LaCoille (Ludlow, MA) added a team-high 10 digs for the Blazers, who remain winless in six all-time meetings against the Owls.

Elms College returns to non-conference home action when it hosts Anna Maria and WPI in a tri-match on Saturday, October 13. The Blazers face Anna Maria at 11:00 a.m. and WPI at 3:00 p.m.
