WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL HELD OFF BY SIMMONS, 3-2

BOSTON, MA, Sept. 13, 2007 - Elms College sophomore opposite Amanda Konsewicz (Westfield, MA) knocked down eight kills and sophomore setter Kim Phillips (Randolph, MA) handed out 38 assists, but Simmons College held on to post a 3-2 (32-34, 30-25, 30-22, 29-31, 15-8) win over the Blazers in Thursday night's non-conference women's volleyball match at Boston.

Freshman middle hitter Jeannette Nunez (Canovanas, Puerto Rico) added six kills, 18 digs and 11 aces for the Blazers, who fell to 1-2.

Elms College opens up North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play when it hosts Husson and Lesley on Saturday, September 15. Match one is set for 11:00 a.m.
