WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL FALLS AT SOUTHERN VERMONT, 3-2

BENNINGTON, VT, Sept. 8, 2007 - Elms College sophomore setter Kim Phillips (Randolph, MA) handed out 32 assists, but host Southern Vermont College fought off elimination and posted a 3-2 (24-30, 17-30, 30-27, 30-28, 15-11) win over the Blazers in Saturday afternoon's non-conference women's volleyball match at Bennington, Vermont.

Elms College fell to 0-1, while Southern Vermont improved to 1-3.

The Blazers received a team-high 16 kills and 20 digs from freshman outside hitter Jeannette Nunez (Canovanas, Puerto Rico), and sophomore middle hitter Melissa Clark (Chicopee, MA) added 13 kills and two blocks. 

The Blazers return to non-conference play on Tuesday, September 11 at Newbury. Match time is 7:00 p.m.
