WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS NAC TRI-MATCH WITH CASTLETON, THOMAS
CASTLETON, VT, Sept. 29, 2007 - Elms College freshman outside hitter Jeannette Nunez (Canovanas, Puerto Rico) blasted 24 kills in two matches and sophomore setter Kim Phillips (Randolph, MA) had 36 assists to lead the Blazers to a sweep of Saturday's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) tri-match at Castleton.
Elms College (6-5, 4-2 NAC) first defeated host Castleton 3-0 (30-20, 30-12, 30-19), then earned the victory against Thomas 3-0 (30-14, 30-18, 30-12).
Sophomore middle hitter Melissa Clark ( Chicopee, MA) tallied 10 kills against Thomas. Clark finished the tri-match with a total of 16 kills.
Elms College will attempt to extend their four-match win streak
when the Blazers return to non-conference play at MCLA on
Wednesday, October 3. Match time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
