NUNEZ NAMED NAC WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

CHICOPEE, MA, Oct. 15, 2007 - Elms College junior outside hitter Jeannette Nunez (Canovanas, Puerto Rico) was named North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Women's Volleyball Player of the Week on Monday, October 15.

Nunez, who earned the top weekly conference honor for the third time this season, recorded 38 kills (4.22 per game) and 30 digs (3.33 per game) in a 1-2 week for the Blazers.

For the season, Nunez has already established new single-season program records in both kills (238) and aces (85), and is just 41 digs shy of breaking Chie Inoue's single-season mark of 273 set last season.

Elms College returns to action on Wednesday, October 17 when it hosts Daniel Webster. Match time is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Maguire Center.
