BOSTON, Mass. – Elms College sophomore women's swimmer Devon DeGrazia (Westport, Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Swimmer of the Week as announced by the league on Monday.
DeGrazia secured six first place finishes during the week, helping Elms pick up victories over Norwich University, Regis College and NCAA Division II Assumption College. DeGrazia captured a new school record in the 800-meter freestyle (9:56.01) and was the lead leg in the school and pool record-setting 200-meter freestyle relay that secured a top time of 1:48.62. Both records occurred against Regis/Assumption. In the double dual meet, DeGrazia also notched first in the 50-meter backstroke (33.11) and the 100-meter backstroke (1:12.42). Against Norwich, she won the freestyle events with times of 26.00 (50-yard freestyle), 56.34 (100-yard freestyle) and 2:03.21 (200-yard freestyle) respectively. This is DeGrazia's third weekly award of the season.
