  WOMEN'S SWIMMING PLACES 18TH AT NEISDA CHAMPIONSHIP

CHICOPEE, MA., Feb. 19, 2008 - Elms College sophomore Liz Walker (Holyoke, MA) recorded a fourth place finish in the final round of the 200-yard breaststroke to help the Blazers capture 18th place in the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association Championships on Sunday.

Keene State College won the NEISDA Championship with a team score of 982.  Rounding out the top five at the championship were Bentley College (900), Bryant University (748), Bridgewater State College (510.50), and Westfield State (428).  Elms College earned a team score of 62.

Walker qualified for the final heat of the 200-yard breaststroke by placing fourth in Sunday's preliminary round (2:38.56).  In the final heat Walker recorded a personal best time of 2:36.72 to earn fourth place honors.
