  WOMEN'S SWIMMING DEFEATS ST. JOSEPH (CT), 90-32

DANBURY, CT, Nov. 11, 2006 - Elms College sophomore Kate Orefice (Southington, CT) and freshman Marie Waterhouse (East Longmeadow, MA) each won an event to help lead the Blazers to a split of Saturday's double-dual women's swimming meet hosted at Western Connecticut State University.

The Blazers (2-2) downed St. Joseph College (CT) 90-32, but fell to host Western Connecticut 77-50.

Orefice was victorious in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:18.16), while Waterhouse placed first in the 200-yard backstroke (2:26.64).

Elms College hosts Smith College in its home opener on Tuesday, November 14. Meet time is 7:00 p.m. at Partyka Natatorium.
