WOMEN'S SWIMMING SINKS REGIS, 146-100

WESTON, MA, Feb. 3, 2007  - Elms College freshman Liz Walker (Holyoke, MA) set three new school and one pool record, and three other swimmers each recorded a pair of victories to help lead the Blazers to a 146-100 win over Regis College in Saturday's women's swimming meet at Weston, Massachusetts.

Elms College concluded the dual-meet portion of its 2006-07 season as it improved to 6-8 overall. The Blazers will finish their season at the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Championship on February 16-18.

Walker clocked new school records en route to first place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle (2:09.76) and 100-yard individual medley (1:08.95). She also set both a school and Regis pool record with her winning time of 1:11.42 in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Freshmen Marie Waterhouse (East Longmeadow, MA), Kathleen Towle (Brockton, MA) and junior Kaity Jo Bryll (East Hartland, CT) also won two events apiece in Saturday's victory.

Waterhouse was first in both the 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard butterfly, Towle won both the 1000-yard and 500-yard freestyle events, and Bryll placed first in both 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events.
