About The Team 

Established in 1986, the women’s soccer team added to its recent success with a historical 2011 season that culminated in the program’s first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship. Since 2004, the Blazers have recorded 76 victories, earned eight straight conference tournament berths, and had players named all-conference a total of 35 times.

In 2008, the Blazers won both the inaugural New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) regular season and tournament titles. In 2011, Elms won five of its final six games to earn the third seed in the conference tournament and advanced to the championship game which resulted in the program’s first-ever NCAA postseason appearance.

In 2012 under fourth-year head coach Kevin Meek, Elms notched a stellar 6-1-2 record in conference play and garnered the third seed in the conference tournament. The Blazers, who went 5-1-1 in its final six games of the regular season, secured a 2-0 victory over sixth-seeded Mitchell College before falling to No. 2 Regis College in the semifinals.

Blazers' freshman midfielder Marissa Yowell (Ashland, Mass.) was named First Team All-NECC after scoring nine goals during league play to finish in a tie for second in the category. Yowell had three game-winners during Elms' conference slate which tied her for first in that category.

The Blazers also had a pair of Second Team All-NECC selections – junior forward Victoria Cebula (Granby, Mass.) and senior defender Leah Spring (South Hadley, Mass.). Cebula notched two goals and added three helpers during Elms' NECC schedule and Leah Spring was the anchor of the squad's defensive efforts, notching an assist while helping the Blazers complete four shutout victories against league competition.

In addition to competing in the NECC, the Blazers belong to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
