WOMEN'S SOCCER HELD OFF BY MAINE-FARMINGTON, 1-0

Box score

CHICOPEE, MA, Sept. 22, 2007 - Elms College junior goalkeeper Shannon Donnelly (Florence, MA) stopped six shots, but University of Maine-Farmington sophomore forward Jackie Mrazik (Mount Vernon, ME) scored the game's only goal in the 65th minute to send the visiting Beavers to a 1-0 win over the Blazers in Saturday's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's soccer game at Leary Field.

Maine-Farmington won for the second time in its last three games to improve to 2-3, 1-0 NAC. Elms College had its three-game unbeaten streak snapped and fell to 2-5-1, 1-1-1 NAC.

Following a save by Donnelly on a shot by freshman forward Chelsea Norton (Westbrook, ME), Mrazik collected the rebound and scored what stood as the eventual game-winner.

Senior goalkeeper Kerry Kowalczyk (Topsham, ME) finished with four saves to post her first shutout of the year for the Beavers.

Elms College returns to non-conference play when it hosts Mount Holyoke College on Thursday, September 27. Game time is 4:30 p.m. at Leary Field.
