WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS AT WESTFIELD STATE, 2-0

WESTFIELD, MA, Sept. 11, 2007 - Elms College junior goalkeeper Shannon Donnelly (Florence, MA) finished with nine stops, but host Westfield State netted a goal in each half to post a 2-0 win over the Blazers in Tuesday night's non-conference women's soccer game at Alumni Field.

Freshman forward Kate MacLellan (Wilbraham, MA) scored two second-half goals for the Owls, who avenged a 3-0 loss to the Blazers a year ago.

Westfield State, which won for the 14th time in 16 all-time meetings between the two teams, outshot Elms College 22-5.

The Blazers return to non-conference play on Thursday, September 13 at MCLA. Game time is 4:30 p.m.
