WOMEN'S SOCCER HELD OFF BY CASTLETON, 1-0

CASTLETON, VT, Sep. 29, 2007 - Elms College junior goalkeeper Shannon Donnelly (Florence, MA) turned away eight shots, but Castleton freshman forward Brandy White (Springfield, VT) scored the game winning goal in the 35th minute to help secure a 1-0 victory in Saturday's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's soccer game at Castleton.

White headed home her first collegiate goal off a corner kick from freshman midfielder Meryssa Wacholder (East Greenbush, NY).

Castleton sophomore goalkeeper Micole Bellimer (White River Jct., VT) recorded two saves in route to the shutout victory.

The victory gives the Spartans an overall record of 6-5, 5-1 NAC. The loss drops Elms College to 2-7-1 overall, 1-2-1 NAC.

Elms College returns to conference play when it hosts Bay Path on Wednesday, October 3. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
