WHEELOCK COLLEGE FALLS TO WOMEN'S SOCCER, 2-0

Box score

BOSTON, MA, Sept. 30, 2006 - Elms College freshman forward Krystyna Gagne (Methuen, MA) and sophomore midfielder Kerrie Bowden (Chicopee, MA) each netted a goal as the Blazers extended their winning streak to seven with 2-0 shutout over Wheelock College in Saturday's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's soccer game at Pine Manor College.

Elms College (7-3 overall, 5-0 NAC) opened the scoring 16 minutes into the first half when Gagne turned and fired an unassisted shot into the right corner of the goal for a 1-0 lead.

The Blazers added an insurance goal in the 63rd minute when senior forward Jen LeDoux (Easthampton, MA) led Bowden with a beautiful pass to set up Bowden for a breakaway goal, her first of the season.

Sophomore goalkeeper Shannon Donnelly (Florence, MA) stopped two shots to earn her third consecutive shutout and fifth overall this season.
