Katie Grabiec was named Elms College's first full-time field hockey
and women's lacrosse head coach in 2002. In the five years since
then, she has led 16 players to being named all-conference.
In her third year as head coach in 2004, Coach Grabiec led the field hockey team to its best win total in recent years, and had five players named All-North Atlantic Conference (NAC).
During the 2005 lacrosse season, the Blazers advanced to their first-ever New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) tournament championship, and had a team-record seven players named All-NEWLA.
Prior to working at Elms College, Coach Grabiec served for two years as the head field hockey and women's lacrosse coach at Division II American International College in Springfield. Coach Grabiec had an illustrious collegiate field hockey career, having played four years at Division I Siena College (Loudonville, New York). She served as tri-captain during her senior season in 1997.
Coach Grabiec earned a bachelor's degree in history at Siena and a
master's degree in physical education from Springfield College. In
addition to her coaching responsibilities, she is a faculty member
in Elms College's physical education department.
