WOMEN'S LACROSSE FALLS AT WESTFIELD STATE, 20-2

WESTFIELD, MA, April 17, 2008 - Elms College junior goalkeeper Alicia Bobbie (Higganum, CT) stopped 14 shots, but Westfield State College freshman attack Rachel Dionne (Feeding Hills) had five goals and two assists to lead Westfield State to a 20-2 victory over Elms College in a New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) game on Thursday night at Alumni Field.

The Owls improved to 7-5 overall with their fifth straight victory. Westfield's final league game is Saturday at Worcester State; the teams are tied for third place in the NEWLA at 4-2. Elms College fell to 2-8, 1-5 NEWLA.

Senior center Lauren O'Donnell (Hampden, MA) and senior midfielder Caitlin Childs (Hingham, MA) netted a goal apiece for the Blazers, who trailed 9-1 at halftime.

Elms College returns to NEWLA play at Becker on Saturday, April 19. Game time is 12:00 p.m.
