WOMEN'S LACROSSE FALLS AT LASELL, 16-5

Box score

NEWTON, MA, April 8, 2008 - Elms College senior midfielder Caitlin Childs (Hingham, MA) and senior defender Raemarie Josefiak (Springfield, MA) combined for all five goals, but Lasell jumped out to a nine-goal halftime lead and posted a 16-5 win over the Blazers in Tuesday's non-conference women's lacrosse game at Lasell.

Childs scored three goals - her team-leading 19th, 20th and 21st - for the Blazers (2-6), who lost their fourth straight game overall.

Josefiak accounted for the Blazers' other two goals - her fifth and sixth tallies of the year.

Sophomore goalkeeper Alicia Bobbie (Higganum, CT) kept the Blazers close, as she stopped 21 shots.

Childs had given the Blazers a quick 1-0 two minutes into the game before the Lasers took control with six straight scores over the next nine minutes.

Elms College returns to New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) play on Saturday, April 12 when it hosts Bridgewater State. Game time is 1:00 p.m. at Leary Field.
