WOMEN'S LACROSSE TOPPLES THOMAS, 14-4

WATERVILLE, ME, April 15, 2007 - Elms College junior defender Caitlin Childs (Hingham, MA) netted three goals and four other players scored a pair of goals each to power the Blazers to a 14-3 win over Thomas College in Sunday's New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) game at Waterville, Maine.

Childs struck for her team-leading eighth, ninth and 10th goals of the season for Elms College, which won its first game of the year to improve to 1-6 overall, 1-3 NEWLA. Thomas remained winless at 0-4, 0-4 NEWLA.

Junior center Lauren O'Donnell (Hampden, MA), senior defender Jill Jacobs (Douglas, MA), senior attack Colleen Strunk (Stoneham, MA) and freshman defender Ashley Ziemba (Chicopee, MA) each tallied two goals apiece in Sunday's victory.

Elms College returns to NEWLA play when it hosts Lasell on Tuesday, April 17. Game time is 4:00 p.m. at Leary Field.
