WOMEN'S LACROSSE FALLS TO FARMINGDALE STATE, 24-1

FARMINGDALE, NY., Mar. 24, 2007 - Elms College junior attacker Raemarie Josefiak (Springfield, MA) netted her first goal of the year, but Farmingdale State sophomore attacker Theresa Rokee (Lindenhurst, NY) tallied six goals and 5 assists to lift the Rams to a 24-1 victory over the Blazers in Saturday's women's lacrosse season-opener at Farmingdale.

With the loss, Elms College falls to 0-1 overall, while Farmingdale improves to 2-0 overall.

Farmingdale freshman mid-attacker Jennifer Jung (New Hyde Park, NY) notched five goals and three assists, and senior attacker Gina Shore (Holbrook, NY) added four goals and an assist in the win for the Rams.

Sophomore goalkeeper Alicia Bobbie (Higganum, CT) recorded 22 saves in the losing effort, while Farmingdale junior goalkeeper Janine Forman (North Massapequa, NY) stopped six shots. 

The Blazers begin conference play Thursday, March 29, when they host Western New England College (WNEC). Game time is 4:00 p.m.
