Marisabel Santiago
Elms College freshman women's basketball player Marisabel
Santiago (Springfield, Mass.) was selected as this week's
female student athlete spotlight.
Santiago is in her first season as a member of Elms' women's basketball program and her major is undeclared at this time.
In the first half of her debut season, Santiago averaged 4.1 points per game off the bench for the Blazers, collected seven steals and totaled 2.0 rebounds per game. Santiago was named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week for the first time during the 2010-11 campaign after scoring a collegiate career-high 12 points in a loss to St. Joseph College (Conn.) that included a 3 for 6 effort from beyond the arc in 20 minutes off the bench.

My favorite sports moment was watching my friend Robby hit a game-winning shot at the buzzer.
Who has been your biggest influence in sports and why:
My biggest influence would have to be my sister because she is always pushing me to my limits.
Why did you choose to attend Elms College:

My favorite place to travel to is California because it is always nice to ride Space Mountain.
