Ellen Donohue

Elms College freshman women's basketball player Ellen Donohue (Southington, Conn.) was named this month's female student athlete spotlight.

Donohue, a nursing major at Elms, completed her first season as a member of the Blazers' women's basketball program in 2010-11.

In her first year directing the Elms offense, Donohue started all 26 of the Blazers' contests during the 2010-11 season and averaged 6.1 points per game and 2.2 rebounds per game, helping the team to its third consecutive New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) postseason appearance. Her 32 three pointers ranks her fourth on Elms' single-season list in the category, while her 66 assists ties her for third on the Blazers' single-season list.
