WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS TO CASTLETON, 45-37
CASTLETON, VT, Feb. 15, 2008 - Elms College sophomore forward Amanda Brogna (Oxford, MA) tallied 15 of her game-high 19 points in the first half, but the Blazers could not stop Castleton from earning a 45-37 win in Friday night's North Atlantic Conference women's basketball game in Castleton, Vermont.
With the victory Castleton clinches the top spot in the west division (15-7, 11-2). The defeat is the second straight for the Blazers (7-14, 4-7).
Castleton junior point guard Jessica Banks (Milford, CT) poured in 14 points, including nine in the second half as Castleton pulled away from a slim 22-20 lead at halftime.
Elms College returns to conference play Saturday, February 16 at Johnson State. Game time is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
