CHICOPEE, MA, Jan. 29, 2008 - Elms College freshman guard Justine Tokas (Enfield, CT) netted a game-high 11 points in just 13 minutes and the Blazers used a solid defensive effort to post a hard-fought 47-38 win over Bay Path College in Tuesday night's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's basketball game at Holyoke Community College.

Elms College snapped a five-game losing steak and improved to 6-11 overall, 3-4 NAC. Bay Path fell to 1-14, 0-6 NAC.

The Blazers, who forced the host Wildcats into 25 turnovers, limited Bay Path to just 16 second half points to eventually slip away from a 26-22 lead at intermission.

Junior forward Paige Schneider (Windsor, CT) chipped in with eight points, while junior forward Shauna Sullivan (Chicopee, MA), senior guard Michelle Fernandes (Danbury, CT) and sophomore guard Taina Nazario (Bronx, NY) all added six points apiece in the victory.
