WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS TO LASELL, 77-55

NEWTON, MA, Jan. 30, 2007 - Elms College sophomore guard Tee Nazario (Bronx, NY) dropped in a collegiate career-high 13 points, but Lasell College had three players reach double figures and jumped out to an 18-point halftime lead en route to a 77-55 win over the Blazers in Tuesday night's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's basketball game at the Maguire Center.

Elms College fell to 6-11 overall, 4-6 NAC, while Lasell improved to 9-8 overall, 7-4 NAC.

Junior point guard Michelle Fernandes (Danbury, CT) added eight points, including a pair of 3-pointers for the Blazers, who trailed 38-20 at intermission.

Lasell senior guard Courtney Casserly (Stoughton, MA) led all players with 18 points and senior guard Justine Hill (Carver, MA) handed out a game-high eight assists to become the Lasers' all-time assist leader.

Elms College returns to NAC play when it hosts Castleton State College on Friday, February 2 at the Maguire Center. Tip-off is 8:00 p.m.
