ATHLETICS TO HOST SOFTBALL FIELD DEDICATION CEREMONY

CHICOPEE, MA, April 1, 2008 - Elms College's athletic department will host a formal field dedication ceremony at Dooley Field prior to the softball team's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) doubleheader against Maine Maritime on Saturday, April 19.

The dedication festivities are slated to begin at 12:30 p.m. just prior to the softball team's 1:00 p.m. doubleheader against the Mariners.

A cookout will also be held during the first game from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.

The newly refurbished softball field, which featured the installation of covered dugouts and bleachers, is part of a recently completed $1.71 million overall field renovation project that included the addition of field turf and lights on Leary Field.
