SOFTBALL FALLS TO WISCONSIN-SUPERIOR, 9-1
FORT MYERS, FL., Mar. 20, 2007 - Elms College junior second baseman Karyn Palomba (Enfield, CT) finished 2 for 3 with an RBI, but Wisconsin-Superior sophomore pitcher Nichole Tessier (Hermantown, MN) tallied eight strikeouts to lift the Yellow Jackets to a 9-1 victory in Tuesday's non-conference softball game at the Gene Cusic Classic.
With the loss, Elms College falls to 0-3 overall, while Wisconsin-Superior improves to 6-5 overall.
Junior pitcher Tammie Tremblay (Springfield, MA) gave up nine runs on 13 hits through 5.2 innings in the losing effort.
Tessier gave up just one run on 4 hits in the win for the Yellow Jackets.
The Blazers return to Gene Cusic Classic action Wednesday, March
21, when they take on Bethel University.
