MEN'S VOLLEYBALL EDGES LASELL
CHICOPEE, MA. Feb. 23,
2008 - Elms College freshman outside hitters
Alberto Bravo (Toa Baja, Puerto Rico) and
Carlos DeLeon-Gomez (Carolina, Puerto Rico)
knocked down a combined 47 kills to help the Blazers outlast Lasell
3-2 (27-30, 30-26, 30-23, 30-26, 15-11) in Saturday night's North
East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) men's volleyball
match at the Maguire Center.
The victory extends the Elms College winning streak to four matches and the Blazers improve to 9-5, 4-2 NECVA. Lasell sees its three match win streak snapped and drops to 7-10, 4-4 NECVA.
Bravo tallied 24 kills and added 10 digs in the winning effort. Bravo converted 10 attacks into six kills during the deciding fifth game to put away the visiting Lasers.
Sophomore setter Ivan Andujar (Carolina, Puerto Rico) dished out 65 assists and recorded a team-high 11 digs.
Lasell sophomore middle hitter Dustin Foster (Ashford, CT) tallied 15 kills and added a team-high three solo blocks. Junior outside hitter David Rogers (Belchertown, MA) hammered down a team-high 16 kills for the Lasers.
Elms College returns to non-conference play Friday, Feb. 29 at Newbury. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
