MEN'S VOLLEYBALL LEAPS PAST LESLEY, 3-0

CAMBRIDGE, MA, Feb. 7, 2008 - Elms College freshman outside hitter Carlos DeLeon-Gomez (Carolina, Puerto Rico) knocked down 15 kills, sophomore setter Ivan Andujar (Carolina, Puerto Rico) handed out 42 assists to help the Blazers cruise to a 3-0 (30-18, 30-11, 30-17) win over Lesley University in Thursday night's non-conference men's volleyball match at Cambridge.

Elms College recorded its program-record fifth straight victory to improve to 5-3 overall. Lesley, in its second intercollegiate season, remained winless at 0-9.

Junior outside hitter Marc Carrasco (Tucson, AZ) registered a team-high 17 digs and freshman middle blocker Curt Despard (Enfield, CT) added 12 kills for the Blazers, who needed just 70 minutes to dispatch the host Lynx.

Elms College returns to action on Saturday, February 9 in the Gothic Knight Invitational at New Jersey City University. The first match is set for 9:00 a.m.
