MEN'S VOLLEYBALL SWEPT BY ENDICOTT, 3-0

CHICOPEE, MA, Jan. 23, 2007 - Elms College junior outside hitter Byron Bledsoe (Lake Forest, CA) knocked down a match-high 11 kills, but Endicott College had four players register six or more kills en route to a 3-0 (30-25, 30-24, 30-15) win over the Blazers in Tuesday night's non-conference men's volleyball match at the Maguire Center.

Endicott, which was coming off a 3-1 home loss to No. 5 Springfield College last Saturday night, improved to 2-1 overall. Elms College fell to 1-2 overall.

Endicott sophomore opposite Eric Smith (Concord, MA) blasted a team-high nine kills, including six in the third game, and freshman setter Ben Foster (Penfield, NY) handed out a match-high 23 assists. For the match, the Gulls hit .233 as a team, including .407 in the first game.

Elms College returns to North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) New England Division play on Saturday, January 27 against Newbury College at Hellenic College. Match time is 11:00 a.m. The Blazers will also face their first-ever Division I opponent later that day when they play Sacred Heart University.
