MEN'S VOLLEYBALL ZAPS LASELL, 3-1

NEWTON, MA, Feb. 3, 2007 - Elms College junior outside hitter Byron Bledsoe (Lake Forest, CA) knocked down a four-game, school-record 28 kills and freshman outside hitter Mike Ryan (Ludlow, MA) added a collegiate career-high 18 kills to help lift the Blazers to a 3-1 (32-30, 30-21, 23-30, 30-25) win over Lasell College in Saturday afternoon's North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) New England Division men's volleyball match at Newton, Massachusetts.

Elms College snapped a four-match losing streak and improved to 2-5 overall, 2-2 NECVA New England.

Freshman setter Ivan Andujar (Carolina, Puerto Rico) added a four-game program-record 62 assists, breaking Bledsoe's previous record of 58 set last season.

Andujar and Bledsoe also combined for 25 digs in Saturday's win over the host Lasers.

Elms College returns to NECVA New England Division play when it hosts Wentworth on Tuesday, February 6. Match time is 7:00 p.m.
