MEN'S VOLLEYBALL SWEPT AT ENDICOTT, 3-0

BEVERLY, MA, Feb. 21, 2007 - Elms College senior outside hitter Byron Bledsoe (Lake Forest, CA) and freshman outside hitter Mike Ryan (Ludlow, MA) knocked down 10 kills apiece, but Endicott College used a balanced offensive attack to post a 3-0 (30-19, 30-23, 30-21) win over the Blazers in Wednesday night's North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) New England Division match at MacDonald Gymnasium.

Elms College lost for just the second time in its last six matches as it fell to 6-8 overall, 2-4 NECVA New England. Endicott, meanwhile, won for just the second time in its last seven matches to improve to 8-9 overall, 5-1 NECVA New England.

Freshman setter Ivan Andujar (Carolina, Puerto Rico) handed out 24 assists for the Blazers in the loss.

Senior outside hitter George Chapell (Haverhill, MA) pounded out a match-high 12 kills for the Gulls, who had four players post seven or more kills and hit .357 as a team in the victory.

Elms College returns to non-conference play when it hosts Lasell College on Saturday, February 24. Match time has been changed to 1:00 p.m. at the Maguire Center.
