  MEN'S SWIMMING PLACES 12TH AT NEISDA CHAMPIONSHIPS

Bristol, R.I., Feb 24, 2008 - Elms College freshman Nick Whitman (Florence, MA) placed 12th in the 200-yard butterfly (2:18.42) to help the Blazers capture a 12th place finish at the New England Men's Swimming And Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships at Roger Williams University.

Bentley College won the NEISDA Championship with a team score of 619.  Rounding out the top five at the championship were Keene State College (608), Norwich University (311), Roger Williams University (275), and Bryant University (252).  Elms College earned a team score of 21.

Sophomore Mike Starke (Chicopee, MA) recorded a new school record in the 100-yard individual medley.  Starke's placed 16th overall with a time of 101.93.

Freshman Joe King (Springfield, MA) took 16th overall in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 30.24.
