CHICOPEE, MA., Jan. 26, 2008 - Elms College sophomore Mike Starke (Chicopee, MA) recorded two individual second place finishes, but his effort was not enough to stop Elms College from being swept by Norwich and Gordon in Saturday afternoon's men's dual swim meet in Northfield, Vermont.

Elms College was defeated by Norwich 94-25 and was edged by Gordon 53-48.  The sweep drops Elms College to a mark of 1-9 on the season.

Starke's pair of second place finishes came in the 50-yard backstroke (30.86) and the 100-yard individual medley (1:05.22).  Blazer sophomore Jason DiMauro (New Hartford, CT) came just shy of a first place finish in the 50-yard breaststroke (32.34), losing to Norwich freshman Ari Polivy (Canton, MA) who clocked a time of 31.99. 

Elms College freshman Nick Whitman (Florence, MA) recorded a second place finish in the 50-yard butterfly (27.49).

Elms College returns to action Saturday, February 2 at Regis College.  Meet time is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
