LONGMEADOW, Mass. – The Elms College men's golf team sits ninth on the team leaderboard after the first round of action at the 2015 Blazer Fall Invitational, hosted at Elmcrest Country Club Saturday afternoon.
The Blazers registered a team score of 321 to claim the nine spot. Senior Dan Olive (Jefferson Township, N.J.) fired a team-low 78 to claim a share of 24th. "It's a very exciting time of year when we get to host the Blazer Invitational," said Elms College Head Coach Craig Cowles. It's different this year with a two-day event featuring 20 quality teams, including Occidental [College] all the way from Los Angeles. I thought we left some shots on the course today, and we"ll look to make them up on Sunday."
Occidental College leads the tournament field with a 297 after 18 holes. Babson College is second with a 304, followed by Salem State (306), UMass-Dartmouth (307), and Endicott (309) composed the top 5.
