Galdon Named NAC Player of the Week

GALDON NAMED NORTH ATLANTIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

CHICOPEE, MA, Feb. 4, 2008 - Elms College sophomore point guard Juan Galdon (Holyoke, MA) was named North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday, February 4.

Galdon averaged 20.0 points, 2.5 steals and 2.0 assists to help lead the Blazers to a pair of conference home wins over Maine Maritime Academy and NAC East Division frontrunner Husson.

In Saturday's win over Husson, he netted a game-high 23 points on 9 of 18 shooting, including three 3-pointers.

Galdon, who also earned the NAC's top weekly honor back on December 10, enters this week as the conference's second leading scorer with 20.5 points per game, and is fourth in the NAC in 3-point field goal percentage (46.2).

For the season, Galdon has reached double figures in 18 of the Blazers' 19 games, including eight 20-plus-point performances. In an overtime loss at Colby on December 1, Galdon poured in a collegiate career-high 36 points.

Elms College (13-6 overall, 6-2 NAC) returns to action on Saturday, February 9 at Becker in a NAC West Division game. Tip-off is set for 3:00 p.m.
