SCHNECTADY, NY, Jan. 6, 2007 - Elms College senior guard Bill Beauregard (Ware, MA) netted a season-high 16 points and the Blazers used a balanced offensive attack to post a 91-78 non-conference men's basketball win over the College of Mount St. Vincent in Saturday's third place game of the Sig Makofski Invitational hosted by Union College at the Viniar Athletic Center.

A total of five players reached double figures for the Blazers, who improved to 5-5 with the victory. Mount St. Vincent fell to 1-10.

Beauregard was 4 of 8 from the field, including two 3-pointers and also knocked down all six of his free throws in just 22 minutes off the bench in the victory.

Junior guard Randy Hite (Hartford, CT) and sophomore forward Malakie Berry (Enfield, CT) went a combined 10 of 17 from the field to help pace the Blazers. Hite finished with 15 points, Berry added 14 and freshman guard Juan Galdon (Holyoke, MA) chipped in with 10 points.

Sophomore guard Joe Esile (Milford, CT) drained four 3-pointers for all 12 of his points for the Blazers, who shot 40-percent (11 of 27) from 3-point range.

Elms College returns to North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play when it hosts Lesley University on Tuesday, January 9. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
