Anthony Roberts
Elms College sophomore men's golfer Anthony Roberts
(Ludlow, Mass.) was chosen as this week's male student
athlete spotlight.
A business management major at Elms, Roberts is in his second season as a member of the Blazers' men's golf program.
During the 2010 fall portion of Elms' season, Roberts competed in 11 rounds of golf and carded a season-low score of 77 on three ocassions en route to a 79.7 average. Roberts claimed individual top honors at the first of two fall Blazer Invitationals with a score of 77 to help pace the Blazers to six wins in nine invitationals including the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championship and the program’s first-ever Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship. Roberts also earned his first NECC Player of the Week honors after carding a pair of 77s at the two-day New York University (NYU)/Manhattanville College Invitational at Spook Rock Golf Course. Roberts’ two-round total of 154 landed him in a tie for seventh place overall.
Briefly describe your favorite sports moment (playing or as a fan):
My favorite sports moment was when I qualified for the state tournament for golf during my senior year of high school.
Who has been your biggest influence in sports and why:
My dad because he always pushed me to do better.
Why did you choose to attend Elms College:
Where is your favorite place to travel and why:
My favorite place to travel to is Cape Cod because I have a house there and I like the surroundings.
Where is the one place you would like to travel to in the future and why:
What is your favorite sports book or movie:
My favorite movie is Miracle because I love hockey and that movie teaches you to never give up.
