WILLIAMSTOWN, MA, Sept. 22, 2007 - Elms College senior Neil Daigneault (Ludlow, MA) carded a round of 6-over par 76 and the Blazers stood in 18th place after the first day of the Williams Invitational at Taconic Country Club.

Daigneault shot a 39 in the front nine and followed with a 37 in the back for the Blazers, who tallied a team score of 335.

Skidmore leads the 19-team field after the first round with a 293. Middlebury (305), New York University (306), Williams (308) and Trinity (308) round out the top five.

Sophomore Ben Kwiatkowski (Chicopee, MA) fired an opening round 80 (38-42) and currently stands 53rd in the 99-player field.

The Blazers compete in the final round of the two-day Williams Invitational on Sunday, September 23.
