MEN'S GOLF PLACES 12TH AT ECAC DIVISION III CHAMPIONSHIP  

BELLINGHAM, MA, Oct. 7, 2006 - Elms College freshman Ben Kwiatkowski (Chicopee, MA) carded a team-best round of 11-over par 82 to lead the Blazers to a 12th place showing after the first round of the 2006 ECAC Division III Men's Golf Championship at New England Country Club.

Kwiatkowski shot 40 in the front-nine and 42 in the back-nine over the par-71 layout for the Blazers, who registered a team score of 346 in the 18-team field.

Senior Jim Hurlbut (Roxbury, CT) fired a round of 87, including a back-nine 39 and is currently tied for 47th in the 90-player field.

Senior Matt Walsh (Springfield, MA) shot 88 - good for a 51st place tie, and junior Neil Daigneault (Ludlow, MA) carded a round of 89 and is currently tied for 56th overall.

The Blazers conclude the two-day championship at New England Country Club on Sunday, October 8.
