Twelve Players Named to 2011 NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad

CHICOPEE, Mass. - The Elms College field hockey team placed 12 student athletes on the 2011 Gladiator SGI/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Squad as announced by the organization on Monday.

The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2011-12 academic year.

Seniors Emily McInerney (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Rachel Schrutt (Chicopee, Mass.) made the team, followed by junior Rachel Butt (Agawam, Mass.), sophomores Julie Hurley (Palmer, Mass.) and Kayla Narey (South Hadley, Mass.) and freshmen Meghan Goodrow (Sunderland, Mass.), Alyssa LaMonica (Salem, Mass.), Imogen Leonard (Sharon, Mass.), Bridget Lynch (Middleborough, Mass.), Hannah O'Brien (Granby, Conn.), Alysha Parsons (Newington, Conn.) and Elizabeth Patient (Leicester, Mass.).
