FIELD HOCKEY OUTLASTED BY MIT IN BETTY RICHEY CONSOLATION GAME

Box score

NEW PALTZ, NY, Sept. 9, 2007 - Elms College junior goalkeeper Katelyn Wasgatt (Worcester, MA) stopped a season-high14 shots, but MIT tallied two late goals to pull away to a 3-0 non-conference field hockey win over the Blazers in Sunday's consolation game of the Betty Richey Tournament at New Paltz, New York.

The Blazers (0-3) trailed just 1-0 until MIT freshman forward Jessica Oleinik (Ellicott City, MD) struck for her goals in the 64th and 67th minutes to seal the Engineers' victory. Oleinik scored all three goals for MIT.

Freshman midfielder Denise Perks (Blackstone, MA) and freshman forward Courtney Gilmore (Mansfield, MA) were both named to the All-Tournament Team for the Blazers.

Elms College returns to action when it hosts Regis on Thursday, September 13. Game time is 4:00 p.m. at Leary Field.
