FIELD HOCKEY FALLS TO HUSSON, 9-0

CHICOPEE, MA Sept. 23, 2007 - Elms College junior goalkeeper Katelyn Wasgatt (Worcester, MA) stopped 14 shots, but Husson junior forward Erica Dorso (Farmingdale, ME) and sophomore forward Elisha Dorso (Farmingdale, ME) combined for five goals and three assists to power the visiting Eagles to a 9-0 win over the Blazers in Sunday's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) field hockey game at Leary Field.

Husson won its fourth straight game to improve to 5-2 overall, 3-0 NAC. Elms College losts its fifth straight and fell to 1-8, 0-2 NAC.

Erica Dorso netted two of her three goals in the opening half to help stake the Eagles to a 4-0 lead at intermission.

From there, Husson erupted for five goals in the first 4:48 of the second half, including a pair of tallies by Elisah Dorso and single goals from Erica Dorso, freshman forward Courtney Allen (Gardiner, ME) and sophomore midfielder Alyssa Bragdon (Newport, ME).

Erica Dorso finished with three goals and an assist, Elisah Dorso recorded two goals and two assists and Allen added a pair of goals in the victory.

Senior goalkeeper Kelly Bocchino (Vassalboro, ME) stopped two shots to post the shutout for Husson, which outshot Elms College 24-3 and held a 16-2 advantage in penalty corners.

The Blazers return to conference play next Saturday, September 29 at Castleton State College. Game time is 2:00 p.m.
