FIELD HOCKEY DOWNED BY LASELL, 7-1

Box score

NEWTON, MA Oct. 10, 2007 - Elms College senior forward Christina Ouellette (Claremont, NH) netted her first goal of the season but it was not enough to keep Lasell sophomore midfielder Caitlyn Walker (Middlefield, CT) from scoring three goals to lead the Lasers to a 7-1 victory in Wednesday's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) field hockey game at Lasell.

Lasell opened the scoring when Walker tallied her first goal assisted by freshman midfielder Tia Pratt (South Paris, ME) just three minutes into the contest.  Lasell sophomore forward Meagan DeAndrade (New Bedford, MA) netted what proved to be the game winning score in the 8th minute of play.

Walker added two additional first-half goals to push the Laser's lead to 4-1 at halftime.  Lasell would add three insurance goals in the second half.

The victory moves Lasell to a record of 5-9, 3-3 NAC while the loss drops the Blazers to a mark of 2-11, 1-5 NAC.

Elms College returns to conference play when Tuesday, October 16 when the Blazers host Simmons on Leary Field.
